I love styled shoots. I enjoy dreaming them up and then seeing how the reality comes together. This session was inspired by a bike. A simple teal bike.
I was visiting my in-laws when I noticed my sister-in-law’s bike in the garage. It’s vintage looking and in her current favorite color: Teal. It sat in my mind for a few days until I dreamt up a bike themed photoshoot and told my sister-in-law to be ready for photos!
As usual, she was game.
We didn’t get to spend a lot of time on the shoot because time had gotten away from me that night and we were pressed for time. She threw on some clothes and I threw our props together, and we went after it. We shot for maybe 15 minutes between swapping locations and having people holler at us that time was over. I think we both did great!
I like to tell her jokes or say embarrassing things when we do shoots together. It makes her giggle. It makes me giggle too.
This girl LOVES to read, so adding a book was a simple decision and she was all for it. She has her own “library” attached to her room now. JEALOUS!!
The above image I’m mainly sharing to show how much shooting angles can change your image. All I did here was move about 45 degrees over so that the sunset was more behind the scene instead of beside it. It gave this gorgeous golden light and haze that I loved!
