I get this question ALL the time. ALL. THE. TIME. So read on to find out where and how to print photos from your session.
Digital vs Print
First thing is first: print those photos! Don’t make the mistake of letting them hide away on your computer or phone, to never be seen in print. You could do a photobook, or order prints and canvas to decorate your home. Whatever you do, show those bad boys off! Make your house your own!
Where to Print
MPIX
I HIGHLY recommend printing your images through MPIX.com. This is in NO way sponsored. I just know them to produce consistent and quality images every time. If not, they will make it right.
The pricing is slightly higher than places like Walmart and CVS, but the quality is completely worth it. MPIX has relatively cheap, or free shipping, and multiple ways to showcase your images around your home. They will take great care of your images and create true-to-color finished products.
MPIX is also a Kansas based company located in Pittsburg, KS. So enjoy a more local business option to support!
Mixbook
I also love Mixbook.com. I use it for all of our family yearbooks and baby book albums. They have amazing quality prints and materials. Their album editor is super easy to use and design with, and they have beautiful holiday card templates as well.
My only thing with Mixbook is that it is pricey. Clearly, you’re paying for quality work. With that said, they do SO MANY promotions. Sign up for their email list, or just check the website periodically and find anywhere form 30-55% off products. I do have a referral link, but honestly, the coupon codes are going to save you way more money!
Going Elsewhere
If you decide to go somewhere like CVS, Walmart, and the like, make sure you really pay attention during ordering. Some of their photo ordering methods are not the most clear. Make sure to check each image for cropping and positioning. Nothing ruins a print more than unintentionally chopping off someone’s head.
Another note is that, in my experience, 1 hour photo places are subpar, especially for the long haul. Opt for the longer processing option. ESPECIALLY for black and white images. I have seen way too many greenish, muddy looking black and whites created through the 1-hour option.
UNCHECK that box!
Anywhere that you choose to go, please, please, please, uncheck the auto correct feature. That box is for unedited snapshots, not for finished professional images. Checking that box will change the way the final image looks, and it hardly, if ever, is for the better.
