Happy belated Easter! I actually took these Easter photos ON Easter Sunday. Motivation finally hit the Saturday before to set it up, and the flow of our Easter Sunday, combined with the rainy day, allowed for me to get some shots of the boys for the big day! I was so excited to get a shoot done. Especially since I LOVED our Easter photos last year!
My oldest was pretty game for photos and I was super thankful for that. My youngest, as usual, was not so interested. Thankfully I still ended up with a great assortment of awesome shots.
The last image above of my youngest shows how he was really focused on “stealthily” getting Easter eggs from the cart. Both of my boys are VERY Easter egg motivated. Are all kids that way?

A hugely exciting thing to me about this session, was that my oldest wanted to take some photos. And I actually let him. That’s right folks, I let my 4 year old (5 next month) hold my big girl camera. It was terrifying. But I helped him get a good grip and support the camera. Everything was set up for him, he simply had to point and click. I’m pleased to say the first image below was taken by him. I had to straighten it a bit, but I was so proud. Getting to be in the photos with the boys was fun as well, AND I’m super glad that I decided to look nice that day for fun.
This snowballed into the boys wanting Daddy to come down for photos as well. But I knew Daddy hadn’t dressed for photos and wouldn’t want any taken. I did decide to take advantage of him being there though to get a photo of both of the boys and myself as well. I definitely need to work more on getting in the images.
More on my growing photographer later. We did another shoot since Easter that is still a work in progress, but my little man helped with that shoot too. I got a little smarter about the process though and I’ll share more once I post that session as well.
