I can’t even you guys. Seriously. This lemon photoshoot has me all giddy like a school girl. It came together so fluidly. A nickname turned into a first birthday photoshoot. Perfect.
This precious little girl dove right in to the setup. She wasn’t content to sit in the chair once she realized there was water WITH lemons in the bucket. Time to eat! She stood there for some time quite content to nibble on her lemon slice and look at me like I was crazy.
She was a blast to work with, even with a few tear filled moments about Mommy being too far away from her. It was a beautiful evening and we shot in their backyard, so it was close to home and comfy. The older kiddos, including mine, all wanted in on the action and we had to motivate them to play elsewhere…and not drink the lemon water. Once I thought Fiona was done with photos, all the kids swarmed to get drinks. They took turns filling their cups and coming back for more. They downed the water in no time. I call that a true success.
It’s all in the (lemon) details…
Not only was Fiona adorable, but I loved the details. There’s something so bright and fun about lemons. Lemons and sunshine! I could have kept shooting until dark, but I had to have at least a little bit of self-control. I mean if I kept shooting I would have had WAY too many images to go through, as well as the turmoil of having to decide which ones to keep. Ah, the true struggle of a photographer.
So the lemon theme is one of my favorites now. I may need to do lemon/lemonade themed mini sessions every summer!
