Project 365: August 2018. We moved from Texas to Kansas. Joey was gone for practically two weeks. There is cardboard everywhere. Our Texas house went on the market. Mommy’s favorite toy is chalk. We bought our Kansas house mainly for the giant, two shower-head master shower. Tons of new family time with my family, but definitely missing time spent with my awesome in-laws.
July. We bought a house. We took our first kid free vacation in years. We spent as much time outside as we possibly could. Itty Bitty slept through the night for 3 weeks straight. THREE WEEKS! Then it ended painfully. But he’s been back at it since mid-late August. That’s right son. Mama is not fun to be around when she’s sleepy!
We moved! Again. For the 6th time in 8 years. Whew. I feel like we are professional movers some times. Though not really, because MOST of those moves were company moves, which meant they did the packing, loading, and hauling for us. Most of those moves also did not include children…though two of them included a pregnant mama. I’m glad I wasn’t pregnant for this move! We had always dreamt of moving back home to Kansas. On this cool, September day, I give you my June 365 photos. 😛 With lots going on this summer, there were many times that I was playing catch up, or simply not even interested, but I still kept going back.
Wow, almost half of the year is over. May went by in a blur with me because we were so go, go, go. It’s crazy. I can’t believe I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old! Here is my May in photos for my 365 project.

After a week and a half of not having a computer (new battery), I finally have all my photos off my memory cards and on my computer to edit. It may have been a few hundred after culling down from over a thousand! 😛 I like to photograph things! But I’m getting better about being MUCH more picky on what I actually keep. So you want to photograph your kids…I mean who doesn’t?! Let me give you a few tips: 1: Have Realistic Expectations Know your kids’ abilities and limits. Don’t expect them to pose perfectly for you if they are toddlers or simply always on the move. You MIGHT get some fun posed shots when they are older, but personality always comes into play. Another month of photos down. I’m still behind here and there. Often it’s the getting them off the camera and posted online part that holds things up. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the time or energy to do that each day with life pulling me in different directions. I try not to let that get me down! Clearly life also pulled me away form organizing the February photos. Here’s to posting sooner next month!
I love 365 projects. I did one two years ago. I loved getting to capture my life, family, and surroundings. I enjoyed putting my own spin or meaning behind the prompts. So I’ve been diving back into photography lately. I always go through periods where life gets in the way (because I let it), and photography takes a big back seat. I love an excuse to take Christmas themed photos! And when you already have themed outfits from the first kiddo, you must subject the second kiddo as well!
