What a day! This shoot in Calamity Line Park was originally going to be done at Black Hoof Park for an extended family that was all going to be in town for the weekend. They wanted to take advantage of being in the same state together and get family photos. Great idea!
Then the weather tried to dampen our spirits!
Rain was in the forecast all week and we changed up our plans last minute to shoot in Calamity Line Park in Olathe. It has a small shelter area that we could hide from rain if needed, and it’s a pretty shelter that gave us multiple angles of pretty. Perfect.
Thankfully, once the day arrive, the rain decided to give us a break. The ground was wet, but we stayed dry. That also meant the colors were rich and saturated from all the previous rain. Win/win.
I had a blast working with them all. It was a team effort to keep us moving and keep the kids from the playground, meltdowns, and mud. The usual.
Honestly, they were all super easy to work with and the kids did amazingly well. Seven kids taking photos off and on for an hour with a playground, mud, and all sorts of exciting new things around? They rocked it.
Check them out in black and white! I love a good black and white! So classic!
I love capturing families. They even had some fun photo ideas themselves. I was completely game to capture their shenanigans! Smiles all around!
