I love games. I’m SO excited that my boys are getting more into the phase where they can actually PLAY games, instead of just liter the floor with the pieces. I’m slowly introducing them to more and more games and hoping to win them over to our side. I have dreams of family game night! So here are 7 games for gifting kids that I plan to introduce my kids to this Christmas.
Guess Who?
I love Guess Who? I remember playing it a lot as a kid. I am excited to see if my boys will keep the cards in the set though. I’m willing to find out. I mean, what a great game for matching, face recognition, describing, and more!
Hisss
This one I actually found recently and am so intrigued. A puzzle game. Taking a puzzle concept, that my boys already love, and adding more to it. I feel like that’s a great way to introduce kids to board games.
Operation
A silly guy in boxers, anatomy, hand-eye coordination, suspense, and noise. Toddler heaven. This will be used for years!
Hungry, Hungry, Hippos
I have loved this game for years, but as a mom just saw tiny balls all over my house. My mother recently bought one for her house, as we as my boys have recently been playing more with marbles and change, and rather successfully keeping them maintained (mostly). I think it MIGHT be time to try it out. I mean I do have a child safety lock on the game cabinet for a reason…
Chunky Puzzles
Okay, so we have puzzles, but I like how big and chunky this one is, and it made me think we need to revisit focusing on puzzles again. I think my youngest might not eat them as much anymore.
Perfection
I could not believe I had forgotten about this one the other day when I was in the game aisle. I love this game. It’s exciting and energetic, and it’s great for hand-eye coordination. Also, my preschooler loves to “spook” people, so what’s better than racing against time, never knowing when it’s going to pop?!??!
Mancala
This is a fun game of moving small stones around a board. You could easily incorporate math, and of course strategy in there. I love multitasking items, especially as a homeschooling mom. This may not get played “by the rules” for some time, but I still feel like it will get played with a good amount!
